Hard Summer started in 2007 and is the brainchild of tastemaker and DJ, Gary Richards. Aside from consistently booking the biggest names in electronic music, the festival also plays host to up-and-coming producers, established indie bands, and tomorrow’s household names.
The new site design was based on Hard’s updated visual branding and features tons of content including videos, artist pages, crowd-sourced Instagram images, and updates. Our challenge was to make a cohesive user-experience that served up-to-the-minute festival info while allowing visitors to quickly and easily purchase tickets to the multi-day event. The site also features a custom SoundCloud music player that allows users to stream artist tracks and exclusive Hard Summer mixes.
It was crucial that the site looked good and functioned flawlessly on mobile. The site was designed responsively so that mobile users would load optimized content quicker, could stream music easily, and buy tickets on the go.
